New Season

The 2017 season is finally underway with the cherry blossom now out in all its glory. We have had a few frosty nights lately, but we hope that our investment in frost protection using overhead sprinklers, combined with "Frostbuster" heaters will have kept damage to a minimum. The blueberry blossom is not far behind and much earlier than last year....

Cherry Picking

At last our harvest is properly underway. We are now picking our cherries which are looking wonderful and there is a good crop where they escaped the frost and achieved good pollination. We expect to pick the cherries until early September. Already we have had feedback from a customer purchasing our cherries from a supermarket, that they are better than any other cherries....

Tragedy on the farm

We send our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Kalin Sevdelinov who apparently took his own life near our camp yesterday.

We may not know what drove him to this, but hope that his family can take comfort from the best of his life before. He did not work on this farm and we did not know him personally, but we still feel the tragedy deeply....

New investments

The latest of our new investments arrived today. We now have two new controlled atmosphere cold stores where we can keep cherries nad blueberries in perfect condition until they are wanted by our customers. This adds to our existing capacity, and should be useful for what promises to be a good crop this season....

Open Farm Tea

After our walk round the farm on Open Farm Sunday, we hosted a strawberry tea, with fruit supplied from our packhouse colleagues, the McIntyres and Corrigall. We raised over £80 with contibutions from our guests and from the farm, and this will be donated to Marie Curie Cancer Fund.
